Winning isn't everything? That's a notion which will never fly at Rangers as the hunt for a third permanent manager in less than two years proves.
Michael Beale exited stage left after his big talk proved to be balderdash as fed-up punters could count complete 90-minute displays in one hand during an ill-fated 10-month reign. His predecessor Gio Van Bronckhorst proved incapable of keeping pace with Ange Postecoglou in the Scottish Premiership and a run to the Europa League final, a Scottish Cup win and securing Champions League wasn't enough to save his job.
Celtic's dominance is entering a second decade and they sit seven points up on their rivals already amid a pursuit of a 12th league title in 13 seasons and direct entry to the revamped Champions League and the turbo-charged riches which eight guaranteed games will bring. Rangers need to get this appointment right and London is calling for final candidates who will make their case in the Big Smoke.

Past achievements aren't a guarantee, however, they are a strong indicator of what the future offers. Record Sport crunches the numbers on the runners and riders and what they offer if they win the race to succeed Beale and breathe new life into a toiling season.
Kevin Muscat
The former Rangers star is a unique candidate as his career is inextricably tied to Postecoglou. But backers of the man known for his uncompromising playing style would strongly rail against suggestions he is succeeding by merely following the rules of Angeball. He has a better win rate at both Melbourne and Yokohama after succeeding the man who has guided a toiling Tottenham team to the top of the English Premier League.
The knock on Muscat is he struggled when stepping out on his own with Belgian side Sint-Truden, however, Postecoglou suffered a similar misstep when he headed back to Greece with Panachaiki in 2008. Muscat guarantees expansive football which delivers results as four combined titles in Australia and Japan prove.

Philippe Clement
The sexy choice in the eyes of many Rangers supporters as the 49-year-old sits atop multiple fan polls within the Ibrox sphere. But will he land it for real? Well, if he does, then his CV will likely be a driving factor. Belgian football observers regard his Brugge side as the best the country has produced since Anderlecht were in their pomp. And there was plenty to like about his Monaco side before a spectacular collapse in the second half of last season resulted in a sixth-placed Ligue 1 finish and a hasty exit from the Principality.

Pascal Jansen
Jansen himself hinted becoming the next Rangers boss was an impossibility but a report states the amiable AZ boss is still in the mix. The London-born manager is making waves in the Netherlands with his eye-catching Alkmaar side unbeaten in the Eredivisie and appearing bonafide title contenders. He cut his teeth within the famed PSV academy and his AZ side is only getting better in his fourth season at the helm. Jansen's side reached the semi finals of the Europa Conference League last season and it appears better is incoming if he stays at his current club.

The wildcard and his reputation as a rising English manager took a dunt with a disastrous stint at Brugge which lasted 12 games and his time in Belgium was mercilessly ended after a comprehensive 7-1 win defeat to Benfica in the last 16 in the Champions League. His ability to get both Fulham and Bournemouth out of the Championship is commendable. But the cloud he left the Cherries in over concerns over transfers dulled his star before his misadventure with Brugge.

Oliver Glasner
Record Sport revealed the man who masterminded Eintracht Frankfurt's Europa League Final over Rangers is keen for talks but, for now, those have not materialised. The 49-year-old has earned a rep as a man who takes no prisoners and is forensic in his research on the opposition. Glasner has extensive experience in the Bundesliga and pushed LASK into a bonafide contender in Austria.
